WIP..House

We are going green! Dan got a great deal at work ( his home depot in clearwater is having a sale on flooring) We got 16 cases of bamboo to do the 2 guest bedrooms. We got home last night 8pm and decided to move all of the stuff out of the one bedroom and pull up all of the NASTY blue carpet and cut it and get rid of it. I am pretty sure no one would want our carpet even through freecycle...SUPER GROSS! I am so glad we are getting rid of it.

Bamboo Floor Nasty Blue Carpet
Old room
living room with the bed from the guest room
junk
bookshelves in the kitchen..Isn't this where all bookshelves belong?
The craft room/office FULL of stuff.
Dan pulling up carpet, I was photo editor and carpet cutter.
no more icky carpet.....thank goodness.

Dan is taking me to George Michael this Saturday night for my b-day ( so excited!) I am hoping if we can borrow someones saw we can get it done on Sunday. Busy weekend.

Dan had gotten this for our bathroom ( we still need to put tile down here) and it was $150 originally and we got it for $25. I taped a piece of cool wrapping paper and viola! New cool cabinet.

I have been blogged about on Pimpstitch

Oh I am starting to love them. My friends on flickr always comment but I always get a little bit down when people don't and I think it is a super cute thing. I have been on the Pimpstitch blog twice now and it just make me smile a bit. Go check out their site.

bib on Pimpstitch for my friend Alex's twin who turns 1 on the 27

Here is the one for his brother Felix

His dad says they are drool monsters and he liked the bibs I sent when they were first born so I made these from the cute Pimpstitch pattern.

The shirt is for them to share ( the my tools part is straight the shirt it just too big for the model) and I am making a dinosaur one too...

Have fun this weekend. I have got to go finish cleaning the house. It is a HUGE mess.

I colored in her lips first and then I put a cloth over it an ironed it ( do not need any iron mishaps) and while it was hot I colored in her lips and it went on so nicely and I ironed it on again. Then I tried the same on her hair. It is just a practice and I need to work on it but it looks kinda cool and allows me not to have to always do satin stitch to fill in.

Crayola crayons ( the 24 pack) were on sale at walmart for 22cents a box. Check and see if your store has them too on sale. What a deal! I bought 14 boxes.

I'm on the web and Papaw Ointment

Look my onesie is here How cool! Pimp Stitch designs are so cute.

I was in a personal swap from crafster a while back and I received some Papaw* Cream. I was reading it this weekend and it said it could be used for burns so I put it on the burn and it looks so much better. Dan told me to go online and order more so I did but it comes from Australia so it won't be here for a bit. I think it is made from fermented papayas. It is awesome.

"Lucas Papaw Ointment

A local topical application for boils, burns, chafings, open wounds, insect bites and nappy rash." From the website I ordered it from.

I used it for my really rough feet before and then I had another swap and asked for more. It is really great and smells good too.

*it came yesterday, pretty quick from australia. Anyway like a dork I spelled it incorrectly before and I had a freakin picture with the name on it..DUH!

I love the little mappy thing..

I love the little mappy thing so I can see where people are looking at my blog from...I am feeling much better now. I think I am finally starting to sleep better. My leg is still gross but getting better...

Here are some of the newer items I have made. My friend's twin sons are turning 1 at the end of the month so there is a project I need to complete.

I am kinda of slow sometimes and let dan's cottage pie out overnight to defrost (oops!) so I gave him these for lunch @ work today. They are super yummy!

Greek Stuffed Footballs (Could be made veggie friendly I'm sure)

These are great to defrost in a jam..

1/4 cup uncooked brown rice
1 package pound ground meat ( I use ground turkey a lot)
1/2 Cup chopped onion
chopped bell peppers 1 or 2
2 cloves minced garlic
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1 egg separated
1/2 tsp beef flavored granules
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 1lb loaf frozen white bread
Cooking Spray
1 tsp water
1 1/2 tsp sesame seeds

Thaw bread according to package directions. Spray with cooking
spray and place bread in a large bowl and let rise in a warm place
until it doubles in size. Follow cooking directions for rice, make and
put to the side. Combine meat, egg yolk, onion, garlic and spices cook
until meat is browned and onion is tender. Remove from heat, stir in
rice. Divide bread dough into 6 equal portions, roll into 7 inch
circle, place 1/2 meat mixture in the middle. Shape into an oblong
ball, use egg white mixture to seal seams. Place on baking tray seam
side down, brush top with egg white, add sesame seeds. Bake at 400
for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Turkey Burgers

1 lb. or more lean ground turkey meat
1/2 cup to 1 cup chicken stock (keeps it really moist because the turkey has little fat and can get dry)
garlic salt ( to taste)
onion salt ( to taste)
1/4 parmasean cheese
1/4 seasoned breadcrumbs
1 egg

1. Add turkey meat to mixing bowl, add all ingredients except chicken stock
and mix well.
2. Gradually add chicken stock ( the turkey meat for some reason stays super
cold) and mix well ( I use my hands).
3. Form into patties and cook on the grill or stove about 15 minutes. Burgers
will be white when done.

I am still addicted to Planet Green. I wish they had more new shows though.
