February

I can't believe February is almost over it is crazy! I am back at work after being sick for over a week. I got some crazy funk that left me so whipped. All I have left from the sickness is a nasty cough...
I have been working on a few projects...
Handy Manny WIP Diaper
I think this diaper is my favorite. I had never really heard of Handy Manny until prior to Sam's birth but we all love it now. My whole family sings the songs and Dan loves the fact that Manny is Fez from That 70's show.

Annie Oakleaves Deer Onesie
The patterns are usually available here
but it looks like her shop is on hold for a bit.
Wild Olive Bib

Patterns available here

I will be at the Tarpon Farmer's Market I am thinking the end of March beginning of April for all you local folks..It will be on a Sunday and I will have the new Envirosax to sell. Dan, Sam and I went to it on Valentines Day and had a great time.

Have a great rest of the week!!

SALE in my etsy store

Due to the CSPIA kinda of screwing up everyone's livelihoods I am having a sale on blank kids items in my etsy store. I need to go through and see what else I do have but the quality of all these items are fantastic. I love them amd will continue to use them until I can't. I figured it would be great for someone who has small kids now to get some good deals!

Really nice tight absorbant weave for the diapers. People use them as decorative burp cloths. I use some of them that I messed up on to clean my house..lol
A lady on etsy said her 18 month old fits in these mock drawstring yoga pants.
These fit around my husbands neck and have super strong velcro so kids can't pull them off.

My Goals For The Shop in 2009

I would love to figure out what I could do to get my shop to get more sales. I think for 2009 I need to focus on making my shop a better one. I am lucky because I do have a pretty good following outside of etsy. It makes me sad I never get to share the compliments I receive from my outside sales because they have purchased locally. I have some women that order from me all of the time. I think a lot of them are not super comfortable using the computer to purchase items so they go through me personally and not etsy. My mom gets between 4 and 6 items a month from me for gifts. She is my best advertisement. I feel that the economy has a lot of people spending less for everything, including discretionary items, and that hurts my sales too.

I am very worried about the CSPIA and I think that this in turn will effect my shop. I will go back to making gifts for friends and their children and take all of the items out of my shop which means I will have a much smaller inventory. I am going to focus on more unique items. I am working with a friend to open another etsy store to sell patterns which I am super stoked about. I have a couple friends that draw and I think they would translate into great, different patterns.

I am also looking at running more shows. Once again the CSPIA puts a bit of a damper on that because I do not want to get sued for having people that sell items that need to be tested and it limits the vendors I can have at a show. I am hoping some of the people from HHB will join me for the spring show I'd like to have...

On a side note these are some of the item I made this weekend.

from Sublime Stitching, the fab Emily Martin pattern. I picked up a hankie from a vintage store that is closing and I made it for my purse. I love it!
I'm not "lion" shirt for my mom to give as a gift.

A bib for my mom to give as a gift too...

I think we shall have 2 posts in one day

The computer at home needs a new dc jack. In real people lingo it means the stupid plug you put the power cord in is broken therefore the laptop ( and only home computer) is dead. So now blogging or uploading of pictures were done.

I did accomplish putting together all of the "craft survival bags" for the vendors of HHB. They turned out super cute, and to add a bit of green, I made recyclyed paper pads. I was inspired buy some of the ones I had bought from wild olive. Dan and I always have a ton of mixed paper that needs to be recycled so I repurposed the boxes and made pads. I stamped them with an adorable snowman stamp from Missy Ballance. I will post pics tomorrow..

I submitted my bag to the Sublime Stitching Gallery and it is now posted there!

I am a licensed merchant for Sublime Stitching and Jenny ( the owner) and Mary (not sure of her title) are fab! Go check out the site for all sorts of cool patterns!

I was also on the Pimp Stitch Blog for my Emma bib last Friday. Go check out their site for great, fun patterns too. They are all super ladies and make adorable things.

Green Bibs

In my search for "Green" things I found some pretty cute ideas for bibs and clothes. I adapted them and made some bibs. The next step will be to find bibs at vintage stores and repurpose them and/or find an organic supplier.

Dan and I are working on project this weekend. I will have more posted about that once we have finalized it more...

Bibs available at my etsy store. On a side note I hope the economy turns around soon. There is too much bad stuff going on everyday. One of the good things about a tough economy is that people are using a lot less because the cost of everything is prohibitive...

I have a big order to finish this weekend. There is always another bill to pay.

The iHug and the iRecycle bibs used the same font as iPod's do so they are a funny take on that for the techno savvy greenie.
