Going to get the rain barrel hopefully

Dan and I are going into tampa to get the rain barrel. Hopefully the guy still has them. We put a 2.5 gallon water bottle under the condense overflow yesterday and have dumped the extra water 2 already. We can only water one day a week so the extra water helps. I think my dad thinks the latest addiction to the "Plant Green" channel is weird, but I think it is helping us really make smart decisions. Any ideas for a good green dish soap or laundry detergent? We wound up cleaning the toilets with Borax the other green cleaners don't seem to work as well.

The rain barrell sounds like a wonderful idea. To bad it does not rain that much on the desert side of Washington.

A good "green cleaner" is baking soda it scours your toilet until it is sparkly clean and then you spray it with vinegar (which is a natural disinfectant)it will foam up and deodorize too. I have cleaned with vinegar for years and my mom does too. The smell does go away in about 30 min. My main cleaners are baking soda and vinegar.

If I need to wipe down a few things before guests come over and I do not want my house to smell like vinegar then I use Clorox Green Cleaner it is great.

We picked up the barrel this weekend. We got a little bit of rain but not a ton. I got soaked coming out of the grocery store about 2 miles from our house on Saturday and it was dry as a bone at our house.

I love baking soda and vinegar. It works great. My husband hates the smell. It doesn't bother me much. It smells better than Kaboom. He did comment today that our sinks in the bathroom seem to stay cleaner..

I use the Clorox Green spray for counters, it has been really good. Sometimes I use vinegar and lemon essential oil in a spray bottle.

I have been using Borax to clean the toilets, it is great beacuse we have super hard water here...

We are tryng to be more green...

Thanks for reading rebekah!
